Financial/Accounting Basics for Contractors!
This course has been developed to assist in building your knowledge of contractor accounting necessities! This workshop does not require knowledge of the software, but please have BASIC COMPUTER AND KEYBOARD skills!
DAY ONE begins with basics of bookkeeping financial statement management with hands-on exercises. You will set up an operating construction bookkeeping system, review terminology, set up customers, jobs, vendors, a chart of accounts and cost codes to track job costs and profitibility.
DAY TWO using skills from day one, you will set up "workaround" accounts and cost codes including overhead, profit, retainages, and bak charges. We will learn how to make adjusting journal entries, create financial reports, discuss time tracking, earned and unearned income, percentage of completion and pre-paid expenses.
