This course is an introduction to windloads and serves as Day 1 of the 3-day CI-Certified Residential Windload Technician.
Updated to the 2023 Florida Building Code this comprehensive course will review in detail the applications of windload principles with emphasis on residential structures as they apply to our residential code cycle. Understanding the forces of wind on building structures, exterior components and exposed equipment is critical. Updated to our new code, this session is especially important for our Division I (General, Building & Residential) licensees and relevant to ALL construction trades. We will discuss significant Building Code changes, wind speed maps, components & claddings, and review of risk/exposure type categories.
