CI® Certified Blower Door Technician Training

 

7 Hour Understanding Infiltration & Duct Leakage

 

 

 

HANDS-ON specialized training and continuing education are NOW available through our CI® Certified CI-BDT (Blower Door Training) course. This program has been developed for licensed Mechanical and Air-Conditioning contractors, as well as their employees, who currently have hands-on field experience with related air balancing and testing equipment.

 

 

 

Participants will receive practical field instruction and complete hands-on exercises including:

 

 

 

• Setting up blower door systems and tent assemblies
• Establishing baseline readings
• Calibrating manometers and service gauges
• Measuring infiltration and duct leakage performance
• Preparing written verification of air changes as required by the Florida Energy Code

 

 

This course is designed to provide both practical application and code-related knowledge for professionals involved in HVAC performance verification, energy testing, and compliance documentation.

 

 

 

Florida Energy Conservation Code Section R402.4.1.2 requires blower door testing and written verification of residential structure air changes per hour to be performed by Florida Licensed Mechanical or Air-Conditioning Contractors (unless other approved third-party credentials are possessed). Test results must be provided in writing to the building code official.
